Desulfurization technology of magnesium oxide is a mature desulfurization technology. Compared with calcium method, it avoids a series of problems existing in simple wet method. In terms of its chemical reactivity, magnesium oxide is much larger than calcium-based absobent, and since the molecular weight of magnesium oxide is smaller than that of calcium carbonate and calcium oxide, the desulfurization efficiency of magnesium oxide is higher than that of calcium oxide under the same other conditions.
If the size of magnesium oxide purchased from the slurry preparation system meets the desulfurization requirements, the slurry with the concentration of 15-25% can be made directly into the digester without grinding. Then it is pumped to the absorber through slurry conveying to complete the desulfurization purpose. The slurry circulates continuously in the tower, reacts with sulfur dioxide and becomes magnesium sulfite, which is forced to oxidize into magnesium sulfate solution. When the slurry concentration reaches a certain degree, the slurry output pump is discharged to the slurry treatment system for dehydration and drying.

The flow velocity of the rising airflow inside the desulfurization tower is 3 - 3.5 m/s; the flow velocity at the demister section is 4.5 m/s, and the desulfurization efficiency and dehydration efficiency are optimal. The water carry - over in the desulfurization tower is related to the pump selection, the form of the demister, the boiler load, and the gas flow velocity, etc.
The important anti - corrosion measure of the company is the steel - lined granite structure, which adopts the process of a four - layer glass fiber reinforced plastic inner liner and resin mortar - lined granite.
